    Greetings, Helios!

    A large scale game update is incoming. It will be game update and patch number 13. You will require new files for the update. This update is unique in that many changes included are the result of a near-full re-write of the entire back-end of the server; fundamental changes to how the game code operates. As such, nearly the entire game could be on this list, but we're keeping it to just the new content. Nothing should have been removed from the game outside of bugs, however you may experience minor issues with existing content as a side-effect of the extensiveness of the base re-work. Please report any issues as you encounter them. This project was undertaken with the purposes of making it more functional, easier to continue to work with in the future, and, most importantly, co-exist with the planned custom client still in the making.

    There is not currently a set date for this update to occur, however we're announcing the intent for the patch to be in approximately one to two weeks from this post.

    UPDATE: This patch will occur on Friday, June 21st, beginning at 3:30pm Servertime and should last approximately 4 hours.

    Features:
    • Players can now log in to multiple characters on the same account simultaneously. There will in the future be a way to merge existing accounts into one.
    • Cash Shop storage is now functional. This will work for both regular Cash items as well as Helios Shop items.
    • All boat rides are now functional but still completely optional.
    • The @buyback command has been implemented so as to allow players to re-purchase items that were accidentally sold to an NPC.
    • The @mapowner command no longer has a 30 second cooldown for use.
    • The @str, @dex, @int and @luk commands have been added to the game to allow AP to be distributed in bulk.
    • Map ownership now resets after five minutes of inactivity, even if the same player returns to the map to continue using it.
    • Leveling up now sends a message to the party similar to the guild level up announcement.
    • The Match Cards minigame now works. Omok will come at a later date as it is a more complex game to implement.
    • Some better crash detection and channel troubleshooting have been implemented for us to better address server issues as they occur.
    • The boss re-instancing system has been implemented. Players who disconnect from Fantasy, Nightmarish, Zakum, Horntail and Krexel expeditions will spawn in a special room if they relog on the same channel within five minutes of their disconnection. On that map, the player will be able to reset their pets and buffs and re-enter the boss fight. This system will be expanded to other scenarios over time and will be heavily scrutinized for possible abuse and methods to improve it.
    • The inventory "Gather item" button has been rewritten and will now allow players to sort their inventories.
    • The server's official time has been changed from Mountain Time (North America West) to UTC for simplicity of time zone translation and not having to deal with Daylight Savings Time.
    • Commands /createparty , /partyinvite and /partyexpel now work appropriately. You can also use @createparty, @partyinvite or @partyexpel instead. Note: /partyexpel is case-sensitive when typing in the player's name but @partyexpel is not.
    NPCs:
    • NPCs will no longer randomly disappear from maps.
    • The marriage questline in Amoria is now fully functional. Unfortunately, the limitation of only male characters being able to propose using the engagement ring is a client restriction - male-male marriages are possible, as are male-female marriages, but female-female marriages will not be possible until a later time.
    • Along the same vein, Amoria Party Quest is now fully functional as well. The temporary party quest in Amoria has been removed as it is no longer needed.
    • All NPC shops will now allow the player to buy up to a full inventory's worth of an item in one go rather than being capped at 1000.
    • Fredrick in the Free Market will now use the proper interface for handling merchant sales.
    • Athena Pierce in Ellin Forest will now properly allow players who have completed the Ephenia questline to receive the ring if they have lost it (or never received it in the first place due to now-patched issues.)
    • A minor issue with the Dead Man's Gorge exchange quest badge quantities has been resolved.
    • Gachapon should no longer eat tickets under certain uncontrollable circumstances.
    • Speaking of Gachapon, One-Handed Sword for ATT 30% have been added to Perion Gachapon, Raccoon Masks have been moved from Ellinia to the Gachapon tables of Showa, Shrine, NLC, CBD and Sleepywood, and Yellow Work Gloves and Red Markers have been added to Ellinia instead.
    • The Owl of Minerva in the Free Market will give players free Owl of Minerva items any time she is asked.
    Quests:
    • Kenta in Aquarium now offers the fully functional option to obtain the Taming Mob via the questline rather than just paying for it.
    • The Kenta's Advice quest will now properly make the completed quester's pet follow them at a matching movement speed.
    • A couple of previously non-completeable quests are now completeable.
    • The Chaser of Darkness quest has been fixed.
    • The Eliza's Eternal Sleep harp has been repaired.
    • The door required for the Sand Bandits and Red Scorpions quest has been repaired.
    • A hidden portal required for Sand Bandits According to Ereska has been fixed.
    • The Secret, Quiet Passage quest now works.
    • Parwen's Memory also works.
    • The gourds spawned for Opening Nolbu/Hongbu's Gourd now drop items.
    • Tangyoon no longer bamboozles you and says you need 50 evil eyes for the quest “a strange dish” when you in reality only need 40.
    • Capt. Latanica quest now has a 24h cooldown.
    • The quest “a piece of crack” will now properly reward a piece of cracked dimension upon completion.
    • The Missing Hero quest for the Dragon Stone has been fixed.
    • A huge thank you to everyone who investigated and reported broken quests, with a special mention to @Lorhanir without whom we would have taken a lot longer on these. Quest fixes are still an ongoing process as we attempt to make that 1,000 Quest achievement possible.
    Items:
    • Friendship Rings and Crush Rings should now work as intended without any hassle.
    • A missing item from the Neo Tokyo area has been added to the game.
    • Evolving pets (Dragon, Robo) can no longer be purchased in their adult forms. Garnox will give the player a quest when the pet has reached level 15 in order to evolve them. You can "re-roll" the evolution if you do not get the one you desire by completing a repeatable quest.
    • Pets can now be dropped, if you no longer love them, if you believe they are ugly, or otherwise just want to give one to a friend.
    • Broken Glasses have been added to Ludibrium PQ, rewarded for completing the PQ 35 times.
    • The Owl of Minerva item now works as intended, allowing players to search the Free Market with ease!
    Skills:
    • Mystic Door issues with disconnections and improper spawn points should all be resolved.
    • Concentrate, Enrage, Transformation, Super Transformation, Battleship, Energy Charge, Infinity, Holy Shield and Echo of Hero are no longer dispellable by mobs.
    • Echo of Hero will now affect all players on the map regardless of range.
    • Speed Infusion should now work as a separate buff to Weapon Boosters as intended.
    • Minor skills that were not working as fully intended before, or skills that were otherwise not used enough to know, have been reworked as well and should work as intended now, such as skills like Hypnotize.
    • Follow the lead has been properly implemented.
    Other Assorted Oddities:
    • Kyrin in the Third Job Advancement now properly spawns her clones.
    • Ghost mobs should no longer appear after map changes and due to summon skills, which includes eliminating the boss expedition issue that plagues Krexel, Fantasy and Nightmarish expeditions.
    • Mobs that cast cloud skills (like Squids casting their ink clouds) now function properly.
    • Mobs also self-destruct more appropriately, which should remove some unintended glitches in specific situations.
    • Quests, crafting NPCs and any other situation that rewards a player with items will now properly check if the player has enough inventory space, which should fully resolve any situations in which items are not received due to having insufficient inventory space.
    • Pets should no longer wander off and leave at uncontrollable times.
    • The buddy list system as a whole has been overhauled and should no longer have any of the various issues that came with using it.
    • Map changes, channel changes, and talking to NPCs have all had streamlining done to make them occur faster and with less potential for weirdness.
    This is, of course, a much larger game update than the norm is, so please be aware that these notes may be altered leading up to the patch release date, hopefully only for additions. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding in the extended period of time that development worked hard on this overhaul.

    • The boss re-instancing system has been implemented. Players who disconnect from Fantasy, Nightmarish, Zakum, Horntail and Krexel expeditions will spawn in a special room if they relog on the same channel within five minutes of their disconnection. On that map, the player will be able to reset their pets and buffs and re-enter the boss fight. This system will be expanded to other scenarios over time and will be heavily scrutinized for possible abuse and methods to improve it.
    This is what helios needs to come back to life!

    I also really like this feature:

    It definetely sets helios apart from other private servers.
